The first 22 movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe told the story of the Infinity Saga, something that came to a close when Thanos perished at the snap of Tony Stark's fingers. This storyline spanned over a decade and three phases of Marvel movie making, and now there is a Thanos shaped hole in the franchise.

There are already at least 12 more movies scheduled to come out over the next few years as part of Phase Four and beyond, and while there doesn't appear to be any over-arcing story to connect them yet, MCU fans are smart enough to know that there will surely be another big bad coming to the franchise.

With Kang the Conqueror set to enter the MCU in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, he could well be the next threat to the universe. He is without question a villain worthy of taking on the task, but he will need to be developed over a few years with hints and cameos in a similar way to Thanos. Loki could see his debut appearance.

This theory is born out of Gugu Mbatha-Raw's character, Judge Renslayer. This is a potential MCU counterpart of Revonna Renslayer from the comics, a love interest and big part of Kang's story. Could the third Disney+ series be the time travelling warlord's MCU debut, even if it is just a small cameo before his first key role in Quantumania?
