5. D.B. Cooper

D. "Dan" B. Cooper was a real-life American who mysteriously vanished in 1971.

The man managed to hijack a plane where he ransomed off the passengers for a whopping $200,000 (over a million by today's standards) as well as several parachutes. Cooper made his escape by jumping from the plane and was never seen or heard from again.

All the FBI ever found was a few banknotes matching the ones given to Cooper for ransom. In the Loki trailer, we see him dressed in similar suit attire and slicked-back hair that Cooper was said to have worn. He also appears to be speaking with a flight attendant who could be Tina Mucklow.

Loki then leaps out of the plane before being beamed up, mid-air, by the Bifrost, leaving a few notes to blow away in the wind.

The only major difference between the real-life event and the one in Loki appears to be the time of day. Cooper had supposedly jumped in near pitch blackness while Loki still has plenty of daylight.
