Lucifer: 10 Most Heartbreaking Moments From The Series
1. Lucifer's Revelation
We're going back to "Super Bad Boyfriend" for this one. Talk about one hell of an episode.
Lucifer sucks at therapy, which, considering the fact that he is the literal devil, makes sense. Rather than actually listening to what Linda says, Lucifer has a tendency hear what he wants to hear instead of what he needs to. This of course results in him rarely ever making any progress.
In season four though he has a rare breakthrough. When trying to figure out why his body keeps changing into his devil form, Lucifer comes to the heart-wrenching realization that he hates himself. His self-destructive behavior is a result of the simple fact that he is disgusted in who he is.
Is it as outright dramatic as something like Dan's death or Amenadiel's quest for vengeance? No, but it doesn't need to be, as Lucifer's revelation of his own self-loathing is arguably the most painfully human moment of the series.
Lucifer Morningstar is just as human as the rest of us, despite not even being one, with this moment perfectly capturing what makes him the deeply tragic, emotionally complex character fans fell in love with.
