Marvel's Iron Fist: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

4. It Will Bring Mysticism To The Netflixverse

Clearly there has been a memo sent across all the divisions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that it is time to introduce the more supernatural side of the mythos. Last year, the movies introduced reality-bending sorcery in Doctor Strange, while TV show Agents of SHIELD invoked the forces of darkness in Ghost Rider. In Iron Fist, the Netflix mini-verse will likewise embrace magic and mysticism.

To be fair, Daredevil season two previously played with preternatural forces with the Hand, the evil clan of ninjas who have mastery over death. However, the inclusion of magic felt odd in the grittier world of Daredevil and the show seemed slightly embarrassed to be dealing with it.

In a mythology as intrinsically tied to the mystic arts as Iron Fist, the marrying of the street-level style of these Netflix series with the wider realm of the supernatural should be handled a lot better.
