Marvel's Iron Fist: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

3. It Could Really Embrace Its Comic Book Roots

Whereas Marvel's movies - and their TV shows on ABC - are known for living up to their comic book roots and being generally lighter-hearted, Marvel's Netflix output is characterised by its gritty, down-to-earth style and strong social commentary. With Iron Fist, they have the opportunity to finally include the wackier edges of the Marvel universe.

Aside from the mystical aspects that we have already mentioned, Iron Fist has some truly out-there elements that we would really love to see adapted for the screen. For instance, Iron Fist's origins heavily involve a talking dragon - in particular, Danny had to defeat the dragon to earn the power of the Iron Fist.

We have an unfortunate feeling that we won't see any full-on superhero vs dragon action in this series, but the show would have to heavily diverge from the comic books to edit out all the more outlandish elements from the Iron Fist mythos. Hopefully it will just wholeheartedly embrace them.
