Marvel's Iron Fist: 10 Spoiler Free Reactions To First Six Episodes

2. It's The Weakest Netflix Marvel Show Yet

Iron Fist Review 2
Netflix/EW

This probably goes without saying by this point, but there's no getting away from the fact that Iron Fist is the weakest entry yet into the Netflix Marvel Universe.

In fairness to the show, it's competing against series of a very high standard. The first season of Daredevil and even more so Jessica Jones were revelations in the superhero genre, and stand among the best things Marvel has put on the screen.

Daredevil Season 2 and Luke Cage were more issue-ridden, but still had plenty of moments of sheer brilliance, and certainly got off to much stronger and more exciting starts, and had a stronger cast of characters.

Iron Fist, so far at least, hasn't offered anything different to those shows. Again, hopefully it'll get more into K'un-Lun, but until that happens the only differences work against it. The show isn't about something bigger in the way Jones or Cage were, it doesn't have the electrifying action of Daredevil, and it can't match the interplay between the cast and characters of any of them.

The show had a more troubled path to screen, and watching it there's definitely a sense that with this one, more than any of the others, they struggled to bring to life, but were beholden to doing so.
