Marvel's The Defenders: 23 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

18. Tsukamoto

When Colleen Wing discovers that one of the swords used to slay the ninjas at her Dojo - which has been uncharacteristically sharpened - is a Tsukamoto, she seems to confirm a director Easter Egg in the show.

Tsukamoto was the Japanese director behind legendary mind-f*ck cyber-punk movie Tetsuo: The Iron Man in 1989. There aren't a great deal of simple parallels between The Defenders and Tetsuo, but there is something in the shared idea of a character being invaded by darkness from within (as with Elektra's corrosive evil).

It could also just be the Iron Man link too, but it's far more likely it's just a nod to the director's work as a whole.
