5. A Strong Supporting Cast

As is often the case with these Netflix shows, The Punisher assembles a very talented supporting cast made-up of actors you may recognise without fully being able to place, alongside some newly unearthed gems.

The strongest of these are Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Amber Rose Revah as David 'Micro' Lieberman and Dinah Madani respectively, who are the closest things the show has to co-leads with Bernthal's Frank. The odd couple relationship between Frank and David lends the series some humour, but the character of Micro is also great for bringing more emotional stakes to the table and giving the Punisher someone to regularly play off.

Madani, a Homeland Security agent, is immediately engaging and one of the toughest characters we meet, largely thanks to the performance from Revah, and both she and Micro stand - in different ways - as effective mirrors of Frank Castle.

Ben Barnes, as Billy Russo, is very much the charming a**hole we've come to expect from him, Woll slides back into the role of Page effortlessly, and Daniel Webber is a real scene-stealer as Lewis Walcott, a young soldier readjusting to civilian life, bringing to life one of the subplots with a performance of quiet rage and sadness.
