Now for the pairing everyone is dying to see. Ever since it was announced this pair were coming to the screen, fans have been wanting to see them get together as the Heroes For Hire. While that may still be some way off, we are going to get plenty of Cage-Rand moments in The Defenders.

The relationship here is described as mentor-mentee, with Cage the wise old head who's been there and done it, and Danny Rand the exuberant newcomer to the fold. Colter said:

"He’s a young guy. There’s an exuberance that Iron Fist comes with that Luke Cage wants to temper a bit. It can’t help but have a wisdom-versus-youth quality… Danny comes out like a bull in a china shop in some ways, and I think Luke has seen the world and knows certain things. It’s a cool combination that’ll work out.”

As for how much they'll reference Heroes For Hire, Colter added that they're putting their own spin on it, but also that they "definitely want to pay homage to the fanboys."
