Marvel's Daredevil: 18 Problems With Season 2
14. Punishment Versus Paraplegia
This is a problem that arises in pretty much every superhero focused media in which the hero absolutely refuses to take a life but DAMN Daredevil!
The core concept of this season was to place ‘funhouse mirror’ versions of Matt up against him and see what sparks will fly. However, after seeing the cruel canvas that Matt uses to paint a picture of pain and potential paraplegia and comparing it to Frank’s ‘one shot, one kill’ mentality, you really have to question that maybe Matt is a sadistic bastard.
More often than not (and this isn’t talking about the ninjas because ninjas don’t count), Matt absolutely eviscerates his enemies and clearly cripples them.
Being so hellbent about not taking a life, it’s kind of jarring to see that he’s more content to cripple a crook so they need to s*** in a nappy henceforth.
‘NO, FRANK! KILLING IS WRONG! KILLING IS SO WRONG, I WON’T STAND IT! WHY CAN’T YOU JUST PILEDRIVE THEM ON CONCRETE, SNAP EVERY EXISTING BONE IN THEIR BODY AND THROW THEM DOWN STAIRS INSTEAD! CLEARLY IT’S MUCH MORE MERCIFUL! YOU HEARTLESS FIEND!’
