7. Which Leads Into Luke Cage
Alias was also the place that Luke Cage came back into the Marvel Universe as a serious player, albeit in a different light that readers were used to. Power Man, as he used to be called, was introduced in the seventies as Marvel's attempt to cash in on the blaxploitation cinema craze. Except instead of motherf*cker he said things like sweet Christmas, which nobody has ever, ever said. His whole deal is he was imprisoned wrongfully or otherwise and underwent an experimental medical procedure that gave him rock-hard skin, super strength, all that business. He became a Hero For Hire, a mercenary who later softened figuratively if not literally. In the comics he decided to do the right thing and form the Mighty Avengers, a team who helped out people in New York's more unfriendly neighbourhoods. He was also Jessica Jones's booty call in Alias, later developing into a proper relationship, marriage, and a baby.
