Marvel's The Offenders: 10 Things You Need To Know
3. Marvel's Howard The Duck: What It's About
It happened. Ever since his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy fans have been clamoring for the return of the provocative duck, and they finally have it. The superhero(?) starred in his own film in 1986 that garnered atrocious reviews and even worse box office results.
Marvel’s summary of the film: “Trapped in a world he never made, America’s favorite fighting fowl Howard the Duck hopes to return home with the help of his unstoppable gal pal Beverly before the evil Dr. Bong can turn him the crispiest dish on the menu.”
Howard T. Duck (as he is commonly referred to) is from the alternate reality Duckworld, but has been stuck in Cleveland, Ohio after a mishap fighting the Demon Thog the Overmaster. Howard was created by Stever Gerber and Val Mayerik in December 1973 through Adventures into Fear #19.
The aforementioned Beverely took in Howard while he was a fish out of water on Earth and the two had many adventures, including often at odds with Dr. Bong; an ex-boyfriend of Beverely.
