7. Another Punisher Movie Reference

Though it isn't exactly beloved, the Netflix show makes sure to reference the 2004 Punisher movie that starred Thomas Jane. As well as borrowing the painted on skull motif from the film, the show also makes a bit of a gag at its painful origin.

At one point, the tragic tale of Frank's family being taken out is played out again and Billy Russo callously says "What, did you expect broad daylight on a pier?"
