MCU: 10 Netflix Mistakes The Disney Plus TV Shows MUST Avoid
4. Peaking Mid-Season
The quality structure of these shows kind of resembled a pyramid, with the episode 6 and 7 mark being the summit. During this mid point, an exciting pivotal moment would ramp up the pace, raise the stakes, and ensure that the viewers remained clicking on an ongoing basis.
Unfortunately, these excited shifts in momentum couldn't sustain themselves and often led to nonplussed finales which were nowhere near as gripping. Virtually every Netflix Marvel series was guilty of adopting this pattern... Even the better ones, including Daredevil Season 3, which was often deservedly heralded as the best season of the bunch. Yes the finale face-off with Wilson Fisk was cool. But was it as cool as Bullseye's attack on the New York Bulletin half a dozen episodes prior?
With this in mind, Disney Plus is well advised to save all of their best moves for the finale, budget and all. Let's not break the simple convention of making the ending the best bit. It is after all, the most surefire way of getting fans back for the next series.
