10. Two Can Play At That Game

In "The Over-Correction" (S8E10), Barney has begun dating Robin's co-worker, Patrice. A jealous Robin tries to break them up by first telling Patrice about the Playbook, but she doesn't believe Barney would do anything like that. So Robin sneaks into Barney's apartment and locates the Playbook, then leaves it where Patrice can find it. When Patrice finds it, Barney confesses that the Playbook contains his tricks to pick up women. He describes one of these tricks, The "Two Can Play at That Game." It involves going up to a woman's door and when she answers, telling her that her husband and his wife have been sleeping together. He said he found a list of every dirty thing they've done to each other and wonders if there was any way they could get back at their cheating spouses. When we see this in action, the woman Barney approaches suggests the thing they can do to get back at them is to kill their spouses. Barney calmly walks away and approaches another door. So it may not be the best play to try.
