Karen dated Ted through high school and college, much to the disgust of Marshall and Lily. She constantly cheats on Ted but this does not stop Ted going back to her time and time again. Lily constantly tries to sabotage their relationship, something that Ted finds out and leads to an argument between the two. However, the final straw for Ted is when Karen tells him he can't see Lily anymore.

What makes Karen so high on this list is the simple fact that she was just a horrible person. Ted was blinded by 'love' and he could not help himself but thankfully he saw the light and moved on. I think we may see an appearance from her in the final season to show how far Ted has come and prove that the Mother is truly the 'one'.
