4. Beloved Characters In A New Light

The cast of Cowboy Bebop was made up of a ragtag collection of misfits and weirdos, crammed onto a small spaceship together and taking on the role of bounty hunters. It's no understatement to say that these characters are utterly beloved, as their chemistry, personalities, and layered pasts are engrossing.

There's little reason not to get excited about seeing the characters return in a new light when it comes to the live-action series. Ultimately, Spike, Faye, Jet and Edward will still exist in the original episodes/movie, so getting to know them again in a completely different form won't damage their reputation and will only seek to enhance it.

Even if things go badly wrong, the characters are powerfully written enough to carry through, and there's sure to be exciting aspects of their personalities that can be expanded upon.

The casting of the characters also appears strong, and while some nit-picks are being thrown around (such as John Cho's age), it's mostly superfluous stuff that shouldn't be a problem at all. Only time will tell.
