How I Met Your Mother did it, and so should New Girl. When the series is drawing to a close, New Girl could quite easily produce a glimpse into the future. It wouldn't have worked with some shows, but it can be done, and who wouldn't want to see Jess, Nick, Schmidt, Cece and Winston in 20 years time? Jess, headteacher and the world's greatest mother. Nick, bar owner by day, best selling zombie author by night. Schmidt, successful but ultimately loathing every aspect of ageing. Cece, successful and ultimately helping Schmidt cope with every aspect of ageing. Winston, just being Winston. This may not be a popular feature to include for some fans, but I'd love to see the main cast in the future. Whatever happens, we can only hope New Girl continues to charm us until the very end.
