Two burly heavy-hitting sorts laying it in for 17 minutes? Lovely stuff.

Of all of the matches on the 2020 edition of WarGames, Tommaso Ciampa vs. Timothy Thatcher is the match that had the least build it. But that's okay, for it seems that this is just the beginning of something more for this pair.

While seeing Thatcher lose yet another big match - seriously, why would anyone want to sit under the Thatch As Thatch Can learning tree by this point? - Ciampa is a former NXT Champion and one of the biggest stars in the brand's history. It's not like the British Messiah was losing to some no-name jabroni here, and likewise the gnarly-looking busted ear of Timothy Thatcher only adds further to his rough 'n' tough sheen.

Moving forward, one would imagine that this rivalry will continue on - Ciampa vs. Thatcher in the Fight Pit, anyone? - and that means that there's the prospect of Thatcher getting a win over the Psycho Killer at some point down the line.

Of course, in addition to these two doing battle again in the future, there was also the seed dropped that we may see this pair of tough ol' b*stards teaming up at some point - which would certainly be a major boost to the NXT tag ranks right now.
