For some, the WarGames main event may have started a little slow, but that was always going to be the case upon realising that there's still 45 minutes on the clock by the time the match started.

Where to even begin with this one, though? A car crash of a match, Undisputed Era vs. the Kings of NXT was full of a ludicrous amount of high spots and highlights, although the match wasn't without its faults.

All eight competitors clearly busted their asses here, and there were some utterly sickening bumps to behold - here's looking at you, Adam Cole's sternum - but it was in these bumps that some of the niggles about the match came to the fore.

Pete Dunne dropping Cole sternum-first on a steel chair with the Bitter End? One could argue that should've ended the match there and then, with that placing further stock behind Dunne as a genuine NXT Championship contender in the future.

Likewise, seeing Pat McAfee kicking out of Cole's Panama Sunrise was enough to leave you gnawing at your fist. While we've long been in the age of false finishes, seeing a rookie kicking out of a move that's won countless big matches and championships? Not cool, man. So, so not cool.

Still, this match was a frenetic smash-mouth affair once the action really got going, and there's no argument to say that this wasn't a massively entertaining contest full of action, big spots and plenty of trash-talking. McAfee pulling plenty from Ric Flair's playbook was also great to see, and it goes without saying that the NFL favourite is clearly doing things that someone of his experience should simply not be able to do.

Once the call was made to have UE go over here, having Kyle O'Reilly be the one to get the win was the sensible call - helping to build on the momentum O'Reilly drummed up earlier this year.
