Peaky Blinders: Each Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Alfie Solomons

Peaky Blinders
BBC

It is incredible that Peaky Blinders have managed to retain Tom Hardy in a guest role for as long as they have. Alfie Solomons is a Jewish gangster that often changes between ally and enemy of the Peaky Blinders. Like a wandering homeless man full of wisdom and aggression, Alfie is halfway between drunk and insane at all times, and is easily one of the most iconic characters of the show.

Tom Hardy is clearly given free reign to just go crazy with his performance, but unlike the sometime hammy Luca Changretta, Alfie is always captivating television. He gets the best lines and delivers them in an exquisite cockney drawl that is quintessential Hardy.

The one negative attributed to his character is more of a comment on Steven Knight's writing, as his apprehension to kill-off such a beloved character can be tiresome. His fake-out death in Season Four was a bit unnecessary, especially considering there were no consequences as a result.

That being said, no one will object to seeing more of the scene-stealing Alfie Solomons going forward in Season Six.
