What an astonishing, profoundly affecting scene.

Frank, knocking on death's door, tells Daredevil what it was like returning from the war. How he visited his daughter's classroom unannounced and while he and everyone else was crying, his daughter held him up, the only one with dry cheeks. Because she knew her daddy was coming home.

However, upon his return, Frank was tired. Always tired. So, one night, although they both know she was too old, she begged her father to read her favourite bedtime story; 'One Batch, Two Batch'. But Frank was tired and said, Tomorrow'. Come tomorrow, 'meat was spilling out of her face'. Now, when given the chance, he whispers the books name to himself when he needs to continually move forward, despite the odds or pain.

As any parent can attest, there are times in which you are truly spent, yet your child, due to their undisclosed crystal meth addiction, is always ready for more. More often than not, you put aside your physical and mental dehydration and do what makes them happy, such as read them that bed time story. Because, if you don't, you may regret  it. For Frank, his regret is going to exist forever, a parasite of pain that feeds off his desire for war.

In order to do truly do the scene justice, you owe it to yourself to witness a combination of amazing acting, screenwriting and a tugging of the heart strings that would pull a great white out of the water.
