Recasting The Stargate Atlantis Reboot

Teyla Emmagan, played by Rachel Luttrell, was one of the first people the crew of the Stargate encountered when they ventured outside their Ancient city. Teyla led her highly spiritual people through the Wraith raids, and she quickly earned her spot as third in command to the crew of Atlantis.

Teyla also had semi psychic powers from one of her ancestors who had Wraith DNA spliced into them. Teyla was able to use this power to often replace or overpower Wraith soldiers, scientists, and even their queens. Tayla's child even became a major plot device for Michael's plans to take over the galaxy, though that may be scrapped in any potential reboot.

While not as comedic as most of the members of Atlantis, Teyla was incredibly compassionate and cared deeply for her people and her comrades in arms. Her superhuman strength and fighting prowess made her and Dex the frontline in any combat situation the main Atlantis team encountered.

This fighting prowess mixed with noble compassion would be perfect for actress Natalie Martinez. While not the most recognizable name on this list, Martinez has shown through her previous acting roles in The Fugitive TV show, Death Race, Kingdom, and Stephen King's Under the Dome.

Ms. Martinez can do physical stunts, can be compassionate and likable on-screen and off, and could easily earn her spot in an Atlantis reboot.
