Ronon Dex was one of the last members of Stargate Atlantis' main cast team to join, and originally was an enemy to Sheppard when they first met.

Over time, the team and the viewers learned more about Dex's tragic past; how he was one of the last surviving members of a human warrior colony that used advanced technology to resist the Wraith for several years until their ultimate annihilation.

Dex was portrayed by Jason Momoa in one of his earliest well-known roles besides Baywatch. And while it may be hard to replace Momoa with anyone else for the role of Dex, Kumail Nanjiani could possibly fit that role.

Nanjiani gave fans a brief glimpse into his acting chops with his most recent role in Marvel's Eternals, and his current physical size would be perfect for the warrior role. He could also give his own unique sense of humour, while also proving his ability to delve into truly deep sad roles.

Najiani could explore Dex's struggles with being the last of his people, finding a new family on the Atlantis, and how his hatred for the wraith mixed with his desire to protect the galaxy can all boil together in a unique role.

Playing Dex could also give Nanjiani a chance to pursue a role that tends to be more serious and somber than the comedic relief fans are used to with his previous acting jobs.
