Riverdale: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

13. Hermione Lodge

Riverdale Hermione Lodge
The CW

Another of Riverdale's most divisive characters, Hermione Lodge's best days were (like most of the characters) back in Season 1 when we were still getting to know her. Free from her husband's grip, Hermione decided to live life like a real person, working at Pops and with Fred while also bonding with her daughter Veronica.

Unfortunately, Hiram's return resulted in her reverting to a one-dimensional mobster's wife. Though there was potential in the fact that she did so out of fear, it was never fully explored to the degree that it needed to be and, as a result, Hermione tends to come off as a one-note character.

Even now separated from her husband (after attempting to have him killed), she switches between caring mother and crime boss far too easily without any authenticity as to what causes each change. And with each transition, she becomes less believable as a character - in spite of a great performance from Marisol Nichols.
