Russell T Davies vs Steven Moffat - Who's Better?

Resolutions And Finales

In each of Davies's series finales, a character became god-like to save the day. In Series 1, it was Rose becoming Bad Wolf, in Series 2 the Doctor sent the Daleks to hell, in Series 3 Martha resurrected the Doctor and watched him rise to forgive the Master, and in Series 4, Donna became half-Time Lord. This not only continued the main themes of RTD's Who, it allowed for ordinary people to become amazing and save the day. Moffat allows for his companions however to save the day by seeing things that the Doctor doesn't; Clara was the one who wouldn't let the Doctor use the moment ('The Day of the Doctor'), and Amy realised the Star Whale was helping humanity ('The Beast Below'). And this shows the difference between humanity and alien life. Moffat plants devices and ideas midway through a story that become crucial to saving the day later on, often altering timelines along the way. Davies alternately paints his characters into seemingly impossible positions before digging them out with the big themes of his work.
