Scrubs Cast: Where Are They Now?
7. Neil Flynn
Onto the main cast for the bulk of the series, AKA when it was good, starting with Neil Flynn, who wasn't actually a series regular until season two. When the Janitor first appeared, Bill Lawrence wasn't sure of how much of a role he would play moving forward, but he was so well received the creator had no choice but to keep him around.
Flynn has appeared in two huge Harrison Ford movies in his career, as Smith in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and in The Fugitive, a role that was actually referenced in Scrubs.
Since the show ended however, with Flynn only appearing in season nine once to explain where his character had gone, the actor scored a leading role on another sitcom. He played Mike Heck in The Middle for longer than he played the Janitor on Scrubs, from 2009 until the show was cancelled after season nine in 2018.
Since the end of The Middle, Flynn played Fred on the short lived sitcom Abby's, and has most recently lent his voice to new fantasy fiction podcast, Carcerem.
