Sherlock: 6 Reasons It Needs To End (And 4 Reasons It Should Come Back)

1. It Can Now Get Back To Crime Solving

Most of our reasons for why Sherlock should end were to do with the show running out of things that would fuel a season of the show. For instance, character arcs and major story developments. While that is true, however, nothing says that Sherlock has to do those things. If Sherlock continued, it could get back to what it is at heart - a detective show.

Think back to the first two seasons. Though there was the looming threat of Moriarty, each episode was pretty standalone. It was only the next two seasons which increased the serialised nature of episodes and reduced the importance of the case-of-the-week. It's no mistake, then, that it is these two recent seasons that have rubbed a lot of fans up the wrong way.

So why not bring the show back in the form of one-off specials every now and again? You could still have the emphasis on Sherlock and John's friendship that has become a firm part of the show, but the mystery would once again be at the core of the story.

What do you think of our points? Do you think Sherlock should end or continue? Let us know in the comments.
