Sherlock Special: 10 Major Things We Learnt From The New Trailer
5. Something's Up With Mary
One of the most interesting characters to see translated to Victorian times will be Mary Watson, John's wife, as the normal Sherlock version is drastically changed from the Conan Doyle stories - you may remember she was revealed as a former assassin!
The trailer gives us a hint that Mary might still not be the happy stay-at-home wife of Doyle as she resentfully repeats Mrs Hudson's comment about Holmes and Watson being "gentlemen." Is she just upset that John keeps running off on adventures? Or does Victorian Mary share the secrets of regular Mary?
Speaking of characters it will be interesting to see in Victorian times, just after this moment we see Holmes and Watson visiting a white building that very much resembles the Diogenes Club, the home-from-home of Sherlock's brother Mycroft. In the stories, Mycroft is a particularly large man. Are we about to see Mark Gatiss don a fat suit?
