3. Abraham Simpson
Since the first episode of The Simpsons, "Simpson's Roasting on an Open Fire," was aired, it has been questionable just how long Grampa has left with us. In Marge's Christmas letter she declares, "Grampa is
still with us," as if she was expecting him not to be for much longer. If only she knew that Grampa would still be going strong for 20 more years, perhaps she would have saved the space to write about something else. However, in all seriousness, in a TV world full of drug dealers with lung cancer and exciting, dramatic deaths, it's easy to forget that our biggest killer is old age! An episode seeing Grampa peacefully pass on could see in a whole new era for the Simpson's, as Homer realises just how much he cared for his father - and perhaps become closer to his children as a result. Not to mention the effect Grampa's death would have on Bart and Lisa. The death of a grandparent is a horrible thing to go through, and I'm sure it would see Bart and Lisa mature slightly as a result - they can't be kids forever, right?
