2. Hyman Krustofski
Hyman Krustofski (aka Krusty the Clown's dad), has been an entertaining character since his first appearance in Season 3 of The Simpsons' where his introduction created some touching developments to Krusty's character. And the character has continued to drop in throughout the show's history with his last appearance being in the 2012 episode, "At Long Last Leave." However, as a character who is both elderly and not a huge part of the show, he makes it nearly to the very top of this list of who might pop their clogs come Season 26. The death of Rabbi Krustofski would surely have a harsh impact on Krusty himself, who would likely deal with the death of his father poorly. Then, as his biggest fan, it would be up to Bart to get Krusty to come to terms with the death of his father, and once again become Springfield's most popular children's entertainer. It's even possible that Bart and Homer may realise the importance of a healthy father-son relationship from Krusty's suffering. The death of Hyman certainly has the potential to hit hard emotionally, which is what the death of a beloved character ultimately should do.
