South Park: 12 Most Paused Moments

9. Simpsons Already Did It

South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut Kenny

South Park paid a great tribute to The Simpsons in the best way possible – by creating a whole episode venting their frustration at how the show had seemingly done every storyline possible. The season six episode “Simpsons Already Did It” came as a result of how Parker and Stone were planning a story where Eric would block out the sun, totally forgetting that Mr Burns already did this.

In this episode, Professor Chaos (Butters’ alter-ego) struggles to find an evil scheme that hasn’t already been done on The Simpsons. Butters grows increasingly mad as he just can’t seem to find an original idea. It gets so bad that the very town in front of him starts becoming “Simpson-ized”. Given that South Park and The Simpsons are amongst the most popular, influential cartoons of all time (and most people are fans of both), it’s just so visually pleasing to see famous landmarks from The Simpsons, such as the plant cooling towers and the Kwik-E-Mart, come to life in South Park.

Moreover, it’s great to see regular characters such as Eric Cartman, Mr Garrison and Chef transformed into what they’d look like if they belonged in Springfield.
