South Park Parodies Game Of Thrones: The 15 Best Bits

6. It's A Trilogy

Imaginationland and Coon vs. Coon And Friends, among others showed us that South Park can handle multi-story arcs. Sometimes they can become more successful than standalone episodes as they aren't thinking of an entire concept in their nerve-shredding seven day production process. Like the Coon trilogy's handling of the BP disaster, the Black Friday trilogy goes for broke and furiously fires pop-culture jokes at the viewers. Thankfully, the majority of them were spot on. Matt and Trey could easily have decided that a one episode parody of Game of Thrones was sufficient. All I can say is that I'm grateful that's not the case as South Park's trilogies are among the best episodes in its history. This one in particular embraced the three parts and didn't feel the need to rush its narrative, giving us a rounded story and a top notch spoof. These last three episodes are certainly a highlight in South Park's recent output. While I'm a huge fan of the show, this series hasn't been its strongest and it's a great relief to see that they're still on top form. Hopefully as this season draws to a close we'll see them get back into the swing of it.
