Star Trek: 10 More Secrets Of The USS Enterprise D You Need To Know
8. The Arboretum
One last entry on parts of the ship that would've been cool to see if Star Trek: The Next Generation had an unlimited budget: The Aboretum.
We actually got a chance to visit the Enterprise-D's arboretum in three episodes of TNG: "Night Terrors", "Imaginary Friend", and "Dark Page". This is where Keiko O'Brien worked, a fairly ordinary section of the ship that was also covered with grassy hills and even had a pond.
Again, this facility was much larger than the small portion of it we saw in those few episodes, demonstrated by the rows of large, blue-glowing windows located at the back of the Enterprise's saucer section. Yep, those blue squares? That's the arboretum and it would appear to be at least two decks high, significantly larger than what was ever shown on screen.
