Star Trek: 12 Most Powerful Beings Ever

6. Charlie X And The Thasians

Charles Evans himself was a human child, the solo survivor of a crashlanding on the planet of Thasus. The indigenous Thasians, taking pity on him, imbued him with powers to help him survive, with lasting consequences.

At seventeen years old, Evans managed to give his guardians the slip and found himself aboard the USS Antares. Once there, his psionic abilities were used to take control of the crew and ship. When they delivered him to the Enterprise, the Antares couldn't get away fast enough.

Evans began using his powers on board the Enterprise as well, causing Uhura to lose her voice and several crewmen to disappear. He removed the faces of others as he couldn't bear to them laughing. He demonstrated a high level of immaturity with these powers. He was also able to use them over great distances, causing the destruction of the Antares after it tried to warn the Enterprise about him.

He took over the Enterprise, establishing himself in control, leading Kirk and Spock to conclude that he wasn't human at all, though McCoy refuted this. They did manage to confuse his powers by overwhelming him with the ship's systems all turned on and against him.

The Thasians, having finally realised his escape, then appeared on board the ship. They restored the crewmembers that Evans had vanished and removed him back into their care. They admitted that despite their abilities, they were unable to remove those powers from him, stating that he could never now lead a human life. They left, leaving a shaken crew behind.
