Going back to that earlier shot of Soji, we see her standing in front of a fountain at the real-world Los Angeles Opera House in Downtown LA.

As Adam Clery recently covered, Star Trek: Picard season two is currently in production and has been spotted filming all over Downtown Los Angeles, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Biltmore Hotel, and the aforementioned Opera House. While indeed season one (and all Star Trek series prior to Star Trek: Discovery) filmed in Los Angeles, it would appear Star Trek: Picard will feature the city in a unique way.

Along with the teaser trailer, Paramount Plus released a teaser poster showing the modern day Los Angeles skyline over freeways crossing over one another to form the Starfleet logo. While this trailer seems to be set entirely in the alternate 24th century (or 25th century deepening on the exact year), we know that Star Trek: Picard will be venturing into Los Angeles of the past.

Given Picard and Commodore Oh's various narrations about the past, it would appear Q is sending Picard, Raffi, Rios, Agnes, Elnor, and Seven of Nine to modern day Los Angeles to save the future.

We'll have to wait and see when new episodes air in 2022, but fingers crossed for a scene of Picard and the La Sirena crew driving down the 101 with the top down.
