After getting set up by Book at the Mercantile, Michael is interrogated by an Andorian, Ithyk, and an Orion, Ithor, using a truth serum-like narcotic.

Aside from just the delight of seeing Michael Burnham tripping balls, her incoherent rambling is actually an entertaining and accurate indictment of the character thus far. Michael tells her captors "I’m so supportive! I am overcompensating!”, “I am done being reflexively supportive," and “I saved all the things”. All true.

Michael also tells the authorities at the Mercantile, "I have a friend with red hair, you cannot give her any". This is, of course, a reference to that time Sylvia Tilly got high with another Orion in the first season finale, "Will You Take My Hand?"
