Star Trek Picard: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'Broken Pieces'

19. Auntie Ramdha

Picard Seven Of Nine Borg Sphere
CBS

Back on the Artifact, Narissa is visiting a comatose Ramdha, who is apparently her and Narek's aunt and adoptive mother.

Narissa says that Ramdha broke the Borg cube when it assimilated her Tal Shiar scout ship out of the sheer force of her despair from the Admonition. It's possible that assimilating Ramdha's knowledge of Ganmadan caused the submatrix collapse that led the Borg to disconnect the cube from the Collective as mentioned in "Maps and Legends".

Narissa also says she'd be a much better Borg than Auntie Ramdha and now we know what's (hopefully) going to happen to Narissa.

"Resistance is futile," she says and we all know this catchphrase dating back to the Borg's first appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation's second season episode, "Q Who?".
