Star Trek: Starfleet's Most Badass Ships

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E

USS Enterprise E If this article was about my favourite Federation starships, this would be number one. This Sovereign-class vessel is a stunning looking shop, with throwbacks to the earlier Enterprise models. It was sleeker than the Enterprise D, the most advanced ship of her time and truly looked like it was designed for the movies. And while its primary mission was still peace and exploration, it had its fair share of badass moments. Going head to head with the Romulans in Star Trek: Nemesis. Battling the Sona in the turbulent Briar Patch in Star Trek: Insurrection. And its best moment? Armed with the advanced quantum torpedos, the Enterprise E rushing in to save the day in Star Trek First Contact, coordinating the attack on the Borg Cube over Earth and successfully destroying it. (Unfortunately, that doesn€™t stop the Borg just yet €“ see my previous top 10 WTF moments of Star Trek http://whatculture.com/tv/star-trek-10-biggest-wtf-moments.php) It€™s a shame we didn€™t get to see more of this ship in Star Trek. I get that it may have been costly to get any of the Next Generation cast back, but would it have killed them to show the Enterprise E kicking Dominion ass in one of the many excellent space battles that dominated the final two seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine? Maybe then, we would have seen this ship at her best€
