Star Trek Voyager Cast: Where Are They Now?

2. Jeri Ryan

Star Trek Picard Seven of Nine
CBS

It won't come as any shock that Jeri Ryan has returned to the Star Trek universe, reprising her role as Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Picard. However, what did she get up to in the years before this, after stepping out of that alcove for the very first time in Scorpion, Part 2?

She moved almost immediately, once Voyager ended its run, to Boston Legal alongside William Shatner and Rene Auberjonois. From there, she has appeared in many recurring and smaller roles. Before Voyager ended, she had a small role in Dracula 2000, before going on to appear in The OC, Shark, Body of Proof, MacGuyver and Two and a Half Men.

Ryan has been both candid and reserved about her experience while filming Voyager. She spoke about how difficult her first couple of years on the show were. They were deliberately made difficult by a co-star who she doesn't name (Kate Mulgrew confirmed that she is the co-star), brought about in part because of the view that Ryan was being brought on board to 'sex up' the show.

While that may or may not be a fair comment, the fact that Ryan developed Seven into such a lasting character, so lasting in fact that she was asked to reprise her role in Star Trek: Nemesis (scheduling conflicts) and approached Star Trek: Enterprise producers with an idea to play an ancestor of Seven's, meant that Ryan was no mere eye candy.

She was and thankfully remains one of the best additions to the franchise, returning to the spotlight alongside Picard this year.
