Star Wars: 10 Classic Characters Returning To TV
6. Grand Admiral Thrawn
Grand Admiral Thrawn was one of the best creations to come out of the Expanded Universe, and one of the most noteworthy casualties when Disney acquired Lucasfilm for a whopping $4 billion.
Thankfully, Star Wars Rebels later brought him back, and the chances which had been made to the villain were surprisingly few and far between.
Since then, a series of novels have elaborated on this "canon" version of Thrawn, and his fate was left up in the air - as was Ezra Bridger's - at the end of Rebels. Lost somewhere in hyperspace aboard the Chimaera, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren have spent years hunting them down, and will likely still be pursuing their Jedi friend when they cross paths with Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.
Reports have been swirling for months now that there are big plans for Ezra and Thrawn, and finding out what role the latter plays in the Empire after the events of the original trilogy should make for gripping viewing.
Unless his time with Ezra has perhaps helped him see the error of his ways?
