After Order 66, Ashoka reluctantly releases Maul from his prison, saying they need to temporarily team up. She tells him to cause a distraction for the clones, and sends him off lightsaber-less, without caring if he lives or dies.

When we next see Maul, he is rampaging throughout the transport, using the force and his brute strength to attack the clones. The scene comes off as a powerful and angry fight scene, very cinematic and very intense.

The true beauty of the scene is the fact that the audience now sympathizes with Maul, a character we previously loathed. To elevate it even more, we hope Maul kills the clones, who were previously the show's protagonists. This scene perfectly sums up the bigger themes of the episode as it plays with switching sides and sympathies.
