Star Wars Rebels Season 3: 12 Best Moments

Come on! There was no way that this wasn’t making the list.

At opposite ends of the season, the tease at the end of Holocrons of Fate, that Obi-Wan Kenobi could be returning to Rebels, was one of the best that the series had to offer. After successfully combining the Holocrons together, Ezra and Maul search for the answers they so desperately seek, which leads Ezra to utter two words that had my inner-geek screaming with joy: “Twin Suns”.

It wasn’t until the mid-season trailer hit the web that fans were left with that final image of an older Obi-Wan Kenobi ready to do battle with his old adversary.

The rematch did, however, divide opinions.

Many were expecting to see something that was on par with the epic showdown between Ahsoka and Vader in season two’s finale. But in Twin Suns, the rematch lasted little more than a few seconds, trading lengthy choreography for crippling tension and an arguably fitting end to their feud. But this Obi-Wan needed to be more like the Alec Guinness version who fights Vader in A New Hope and showed an Obi-Wan who was wise enough to trade flashy moves for calculated and controlled strategy.

Regardless of which side of the fence you sit on, for better and for worse this was one of the most anticipated moments of the series that in many ways delivered, and without a doubt deserves a spot on this list.
