Star Wars Rebels Season 3: 20 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See

When Saw first appeared in The Clone Wars series, the animation model for Saw actually had blue eyes. When it came to casting for Rogue One, the casting of Forest Whittaker meant that his eyes then became brown. To fit the pattern, when designing the character model for Rebels, the team decided to go somewhere in-between and give their version green eyes.

Saw’s character design is meant to resemble his appearance in the flashbacks of Rogue One. Ultimately, the flashback sequences were largely lost in the edit but early images of the film showed a beardless Forest Whittaker. While Saw had a short outing on Rebels, he has been confirmed to return in the upcoming fourth season, where the team will explore more about why he split from the Rebel Alliance and became a seperate faction.
