Star Wars: The Bad Batch - 8 Ideas It Must Explore
3. Order 66
Although Star Wars fans have had to relive Order 66 twice in recent years in The Clone Wars and Jedi: Fallen Order, Order 66 is a pivotal moment and one undoubtedly crucial to The Bad Batch. A lot of questions could be raised with whether the Bad Batch participated in Order 66 or if they even had microchips implanted, given they weren't pristine genetic duplicates like their other clone brothers.
Whether they complied with Order 66 or not, the Empire would probably find The Bad Batch too erratic and unpredictable to keep in service. One way the moment could be handled would be if Echo still had his chip implanted, but the others did not. This could show the event but keep the action focused on the squad and trying to find out what is wrong with their teammate.
Or vice versa, if Echo’s chip no longer functioned due to his modifications but the rest of the squad’s did. If the show wanted to take a darker turn, seeing the Bad Batch take on a team of Jedi as Echo watches in horror would be a really bold move. This could be a sobering moment for the team as they value their freedom, only to realise they were used the same like everyone else.
