Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

7. Maul

Star Wars The Clone Wars Savage Oppress Maul
Lucasfilm

Bringing Maul back to the franchise was always going to be a tough call, but man, what a payoff it ended up being.

Revived with a completely new look - specifically, new cybernetic legs - and a single-minded purpose to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi and build an empire with his brother Savage by his side, Maul returned to Star Wars at full force and instantly proved to be one of the show's most sinister antagonists.

Dominating the final season with his role as the new ruler of Mandalore, Maul's importance on the show's story cannot be overstated. He killed Duchess Satine, nearly broke Obi-Wan, fought Palpatine, trained Savage, and duelled Ahsoka in one of the franchise's most accomplished fight scenes.

Maul's return to the war-torn Galaxy effective the lives of everyone in the war, and his power-mad focus was nothing short of a revelation to see play out episode after episode.

It was a risk bringing him back so spectacularly, but Maul proved to be a pitch-perfect addition to the show, and one of the final season's most captivating characters.
