Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

6. Captain Rex

Captain Rex is the best clone in the entire Star Wars canon, and that's simply down to how much development he's given over The Clone Wars' seven seasons.

A by-the-book soldier loyal to Anakin and his padawan Ahsoka, Rex carried with him a strict moral code, two wildly effective blasters, and an unrivalled knack for battle strategy that made his 501st Legion one of the most effective platoons in the clone army.

As the war wore on, however, Rex began to crack, noticing flaws in the war effort and struggling to choose between his men and his need to follow even the most insane of orders.

After a clash with rogue Jedi Master Pong Krell, Rex's overall faith in the war was shaken, and he grew more stern and open-minded to the events surrounding him.

Rex was our eye into the horrors and futility of the Clone Wars, and along the way he was given one of the show's very best character arcs, only to end the war without his brothers and lost to a broken world.
