Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

2. Season Five

Star Wars The Clone Wars The Lawless
Lucasfilm

When the show was cancelled during season six, season five stood as the best The Clone Wars had ever offered audiences, a sweeping and epic chapter in the Star Wars saga that balances every theme and character with startling precision.

Season five has Maul taking on not just Obi-Wan, but Asajj Ventress and Darth Sidious. It also sheds more light on Mandalore, a war-torn planet Maul weakens and overthrows in hopes of creating an empire of his own. The season also features Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order after being let down by the Council, and gives more insight into the rituals of Jedi with episodes like "The Gathering" and "A Test of Strength."

The emotion of every passing episode is palpable, the lightsaber duels more accomplished than ever, and despite a briefly slow middle, it remains some of the best Star Wars content ever created.

However, it's not quite number one...

Best Episodes: Revival, The Wrong Jedi, The Lawless, The Gathering
