Stargate: Every Series And Movie Ranked Worst To Best
13. Stargate SG-1: Season 2
The second season of SG-1 was off to a better start, from the outset it introduced us to the Tok'ra (a vital ally for Earth in the seasons to come), the Asgard are finally seen in the (puppet) flesh and the bad guys continue to rack up. It's in the second season that we first hear about Sokar, the rogue NID division and Linea, the destroyer of worlds.
The season also chooses to delve further into some of the technical aspects of the Stargate galaxy, such as the effects that long-term use of the Sarcophagus can have (seen in 'Need'), the clues left behind by the Ancients (in 'The Fifth Race') and what happens if you use the Stargate to connect to a world that is being ripped apart by a Black Hole (in 'A Matter Of Time').
There are still a few episodes that didn't work out and the plot hooks within them never went anywhere, but the season demonstrates that the series was going to continue moving forwards, expanding the franchise and exploring it's depths.
