Season 2 of Stargate Atlantis picks off where the excellent 'The Siege (part 2)' left off and brings in a whole new angle to the setting, the Daedalus. Just a few episodes into the series, the young Lt. Ford was written out and the massive, brooding slab of muscle Ronon Dex was written in to replace him. With regular contact to Earth established, the proving ground that was the show's first season showed that they were ready to play in a larger sandbox.
